Waze M&P Homesite Event
In the midst of the COVID pandemic, Waze was unable to hold its annual team-building offsite event. Instead, they decided to have a virtual event called a homesite to build connections, energize the team, and inspire new ideas.
Modicum was tasked with developing the theme and branding for the event and designing promotional graphics, virtual backgrounds, swag, and a presentation template. A main priority for the event was that it should be fun and playful. We brainstormed various themes before landing on “Are we there yet?” This idea played off of summertime family road trips while also hinting at our collective hope for the end of the pandemic.
The team explored multiple visual directions, including photographic, before landing on an illustrative style based but not beholden to Waze’s style guidelines. License plates, highway signs, maps, and other familiar road trip symbols were used to create a fun, engaging visual system.
